Mid America Open
multiple harmony bends scenics
Kristen Tattar completely domanent. The career Grand Slam.
Hard to loose when you are at or near the top in all categories.
Total FPO Majors. What Kristen is doing is phenominal and at this point, it would be more suprising for Kristen not to win that accolade this year, than if she does.
Last year Sarah Hokum won by 5 with an average round rating of 967. Two years ago, it was Heather Young who came out ahead with an average round rating of 953. This is both indicative of the fact that the play in the FPO field continues to get better and the fact that this course has historically been hard to score on.
This course demainds accurate shots up and down hills while also traversing through the trees. It will also require breaking a few windows as it will be nearly impossible to stay on the defined path the entire round.
Kat Merch won the Cascade Challenge this year on a course that also demanded precision through the trees. She has the most recent experience taking down a DGPT event and we know she is hungry for more.
lowest average rating for silver this year was 966 at the KCWO by Ali Smith then kat merch at Cascade challenge with 981

Korver's Keys
Patience - This course is hard to score on. There will be highs and lows, so don't get discouraged with the lows.
possitioning - This course requires lots of placement shots. Players that can find the landing zones will have more opportunities to score.
Scrambling - Now, I don't mean the udisc statistic here, I mean being able to find a reasonable shot from on the fairway when faced with an akward lie and or line. Players who can make the best of the inevitable bad situations will shine.
Keys for closing
combat the heat - By now, temperatures have climbed significantly and you need to stay hydrated and utilize the shade so you don't drain your energy
Play within yourself - There are a lot of opportunities for trouble, unless absolutely necessary, be smart about the risks that you choose to take especially as the conclusion of the round.
mental fortitude - Don't let mistakes earlier in the round get you down such that you have already checked out.
Headline Stats
- Holyn Handley has a tendancy to get a little loose and on a course like this, loose costs strokes. If she can real in her power enough to stay out of trouble, she might do really well here.
- Ohn's putting keeps her in the conversation on any course no matter its characteristics. If Ohn can stay relatively clean, she could ride her superior putting all the way to her first DGPT victory
